Growing up in Puerto Rico, when everyone was telling Josie Meléndez she should pursue writing as a career, she was dead set on becoming a veterinarian. That was until one summer when she fainted during a procedure. Now she is a writer, producer, film critic, and poet. With a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Puerto Rico and an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Josie Meléndez is the founder of Film Posers and the writer and producer of season one of Becoming an Icon. Named an emerging content creator by NALIP and an emerging journalist by TIFF, she is the author of Gotas de amor.
