Donald J. Loftus

Donald Loftus is an American playwright, librettist and lyricist whose work has been presented on stages across America and in the U.K. including Barrington Stage (Pittsfield, MA), Performing Fusion (Boston), American Renegade (Los Angeles), Radio Theatre Project (St. Petersburg, FL) , TheatreWorks (New Milford CT), Dover Playhouse (N. Olmsted, OH), DK Delight Productions (London, England), Magnolia Arts (Greenville, NC), Theatre Oxford (Oxford, MS), Laughing Pig (Mesa, AR), HRC Showcase Theatre (Hudson, NY), West T. Hill (Danville, KY) and at E.A.T., Dixon Place, The Players Club, Lucky Jack’s, The Lark Theatre, Shetler Stage and Ryan’s Daughter in NYC. Before focusing on playwriting full-time, Donald had a distinguished career in the luxury beauty industry serving as President & CEO of a number of companies including P&G Prestige North America, Cosmopolitan Cosmetics, U.S., Escada Beauté and Yves Saint Laurent Beauté U.S. (Sanofi Beauté). Prior to these positions Donald served as a Divisional Vice President at The May Department Stores. He has also served as the Chairman of the Board of The Fashion Group and The Fragrance Foundation and on the board The Women’s Project Theatre. He has been honored by The American Cancer Society, The March of Dimes, B.R.A.G., The Fragrance Foundation, Fashion Group Int’l, and by The Dramatist’s Guild Foundation with a Patron of the Arts Award for his work in helping keep live theatre thriving.
