David Clarke

Director of Communications and Digital Marketing

David Clarke (he/him) is a communications strategist and journalist with more than a decade of experience telling stories across the arts, nonprofit, media, and public sectors. Before joining DGF, he led communications and audience engagement initiatives for organizations including The Public Theater’s Joe’s Pub, National Sawdust, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, The WNET Group, and NYC Pride | Heritage of Pride, Inc., among others.

An arts and culture writer for more than 14 years, David has contributed to BroadwayWorld, OutSmart Magazine, Out, and other publications. His work in communications and journalism has been recognized by PRWeek, NLGJA, and GLAAD.

As DGF’s Director of Communications & Digital Marketing, David is thrilled to help tell the larger story of an organization that doesn’t create theatre itself, but exists to champion the writers who create, shape, and advance the American theatre, and to share the many individual stories that live beneath that expansive umbrella.
