They are a cultural archeologist, political satirist and dramatic writer who often points to the future by looking into the past, writing about Black Radical History and Revolutionary Femmes. They are currently finishing their MFA in playwriting at Columbia University, studying under Lynn Nottage and David Henry Hwang. Alle Mims earned a BA in theatre at Texas Woman’s University in 2016, and stayed in Dallas, working as an actor working with companies such as Theatre Three and Shakespeare Dallas, as well as dubbing anime with Funimation. They have been commissioned by Theatre Three, Bishop Arts Theatre, and Imprint Theatreworks in Dallas. Alle Mims hopes to follow in footsteps of her heroes such as Lorraine Hansberry and Pauli Murray in creating art while never losing sight of the ultimate goal of Black and Queer Liberation.
